Creating and promoting awareness of heart risk in the young and financing heart screening of Sixth Form students within schools in memory of Caroline Johnstone who died aged 17 in 2008 from an undiagnosed heart condition
It is the charity’s aim to introduce ECG and echocardiogram checks to as many schools as funds permit. The charity pays for the first years screening and then seeks to persuade the school to cover the cost thereafter. Approx 12 young people die every week from undiagnosed heart conditions many of which could be prevented by heart screening.
