This Black Friday is set to be the biggest online shopping day ever. Check our Black Friday Top Tips to make sure you bag the best deals and raise free donations for the causes you care about.
Over £1.2 billion was spent over the Black Friday weekend last year and we want to ensure that some of this money makes its way to good causes throughout the UK.
Shops pay TheGivingMachine commission for directing customers that make a purchase to them. We turn these commissions into donations for your causes. Therefore to make sure your donations are registered this Black Friday you should:
Download our Shop&Give desktop reminder and never miss a donation again!
Download our free Shop&Give mobile app and turn your phone into a giving machine.
With so many deals available over the Black Friday weekend, you can easily get overwhelmed and lose track of what you are actually shopping for. Take some time to make a list before you start shopping, so you don’t get distracted by all the deals.
It’s worth doing a bit of online research to find out which shops stock the items on your wish list and how much they are selling them for outside of the Black Friday weekend. Don’t forget to make a note of delivery costs!
Remember, for donations to come to TheGivingMachine you will need to click via TheGivingMachine when browsing or use a different device when you actually make the purchase (e.g, browse via mobile and shop via laptop). This is because online shops use ‘cookies’ to track your website activity and so will know if you have viewed a product already.
Create your list, do your research and then set how much you are willing to pay for each item. Stick to your budget so you don’t waste time trying to decide whether you can afford to buy an item or not.
If you are really keen to bag a Black Friday bargain then start shopping at midnight, when many retailers put their online offers live. However, be prepared for some retailer websites to buckle under the volume of visitors! Another option is to set your alarm clock for the (very) early morning when visitor numbers will have dropped, but most people are yet to get online. We’re talking 3-4 am (Zzzzzz).
Many retailers put some offers live before Black Friday, so you may want to start browsing the week before Black Friday. If you find an offer then you’ll have to decide whether you’re willing to wait and risk the item selling out. And remember there’s always Cyber Monday, when you’ll find retailers often reduce items even further as well as adding brand new deals.
Thank you Rachel. We hope you find the top tips useful this Black Friday!
