Summer is here, which means two things – hayfever and music festivals. We much prefer the latter, especially as it reminds us of being eighteen and dancing in a field to The Charlatans. So, here is our guide to all the festival essentials.
Summer is here, which means two things – hayfever and music festivals. We much prefer the latter, especially as it reminds us of being eighteen and dancing in a field to The Charlatans. So, here is our guide to all the festival essentials.
Festival Tickets
Bit of a no-brainer this one. Festicket has tickets for all the best festivals throughout the UK and Europe this summer. They even let you book your festival ticket, travel and accommodation all in one go.
Tents
You may not want to take your 5* luxury family tent, but you’ll still need somewhere decent to catch some zzzs. Pop-up tents are always a great option, but our top-tip is to practice packing them away a few times first. If it is likely to be hot (less of an issue for UK festivals) then try and choose a red or blue tent that reflects the heat rather than a dark one.
Camping Stoves
Yes, there are always plenty of places selling food and drink, but it’s quite nice to have a cuppa in the morning without having to trek through a field of tents.
Wellies
Indispensable if you are camping at a UK festival this summer.
Loo Roll
Toilets stocked with loo paper are pretty rare after the first hour of a festival, so take your own.
Sun Protection
Make sure you have this to hand in case the sun does make an appearance. And remember you can still burn even if it is cloudy.
Dry Shampoo
Some festivals do have showers, but queues are likely to be long and hot water limited. If you can’t go without washing your hair for three days, then try some dry shampoo. Or if that fails, a hat.
Ear Plugs
If you don’t fancy lying awake all night listening to Kev’s snoring in the next tent mixed with the distant sound of dance music, then ear plugs are vital.
