Hi Kasam, Thank you for your message. In answer to your first question regarding whether a charity will make any money by joining TheGivingMachine, this is dependent on the charity promoting the scheme to its supporters. Many organisations have made significant amounts and this is publicly shown on their pages. Regarding your second query, we are not sure what you mean here but would be delighted to have a call about your concerns. We share all incoming sales commissions 50/50 and also give all causes the opportunity to receive free donations every day. Kind regards, Laura

My concerns are: 1) Being part of this scheme will the charity make any money. 2) By advertising your company to add us as a charity when using the service will you be the one who benefits the most and the charity loses out.

Rita and I have supported the charity for a while and are most impressed. The children benefit enormously from the help and support they receive

Would like to have seen details of ownership and management. Is The Giving Machine a registered charity with the Charity Commission and, if so, what is its registration number?

I was made aware of "The Giving Machine" by my chosen cause. It seems to be an excellent way of generating additional income for them.

This charity is run by such special people and they do such amazing work for the autism community. Their events are fun and interactive and always so exciting! These people have their hearts in the right place and are doing such a good thing for people who don't ordinarily enjoy going to social events or gatherings so Autism All Stars tailor their events to include all people on the autistic spectrum. My family certainly benefit from this charity so I urge each and every other person to support this wonderful charity!

I nominate my Mum Mrs Sheelagh Armstrong who was left a widow at aged 47 with 6 children. My Mum never remarried so brought up the children still at home on her own. At aged 66 my Mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer and after an operation and chemotherapy she made a full recovery. Just before Christmas 2016 (aged 74) I had to rush my Mum into hospital as she was having difficulty breathing - thank god I did as that night she had a heart attack and would have died if she had not been in the hospital where they managed to resuscitate her. Mum had in fact contracted pnuemonia and flu and fighting these two infections is what had put a strain on her heart and caused the heart attack. Mum was in Intensive care in an induced coma for 7 days with all of her six children around her, we thought it was the end. Miraculously on the 8th day Mum came round and after another week in hospital and a couple of months convalescing with one of my sisters Mum was well enough to go home again. My Mum is one or the strongest people I have ever met and is always on hand to help with the childcare of her grandchildren or anyone else who needs her support - she is an absolute Star and we all love her dearly. It would be lovely if you could send her a bunch of flowers.

Hi Louise - thanks for getting in touch. The short answer is that TheGivingMachine's funds originate from the shops and their marketing partners. As for data, we get transaction data from the shops and user contact data. Donation information can be seen by both users (Givers) and Causes but causes do not receive any data that enables them to attribute the specific contribution of specific Givers and we do not share contact information let alone sell it. We do provide a free communication feature to enable causes to send messages to their supporters to say thank you or invite them into other subscriptions for example. I hope that this answers your questions but I'll send you my contact details in case you need more information. Cheers Richard

Hi Can I just ask how the charity receive the money and who owns/gets the data? Thanks Louise

Hi Laila Thanks for contacting us. I will email you direct and let you know the next steps. Many thanks Luisa.

We are a new natural health and beauty subscription box and are looking to join The Giving Machine as a partner. What are the next steps?

Author: Laila Sanderson | On: 2017-04-09 09:31:39

Hi School Supporters Club was developed a a low cost fund raising system for PTAs, Charities and Community Association. Included in the £10.00 p.a. subscription is a complete Admin system that can save groups money in admin costs - http://goo.gl/Zs8UCm We think SSC has much to offer the 3rd and Voluntary groups. We are looking for a partner to help promote a website that offers som uch and costs so little - any advice would be most welcome. Terence Ayres School Supporters Club

So sorry, we missed your comment. If you are using Microsoft Edge it does not allow third party extensions, however Microsoft does plan to change this in the future. Our shop and give app does however work on other browsers such as Chrome and Safari.

Hi Angie By visiting the Groupon site via TheGivingMachine, your click out is your free entry so you don't need to do anything else. Good luck. Luisa

Author: Luisa Gatward | On: 2017-02-23 07:54:27

I have visited groupon website via the giving machine website but I cannot see where I can enter and register for the competition. I already have a groupon account, is it only new visitors that can enter?

Author: Angie | On: 2017-02-22 19:58:42

I have read your terms and conditions.

Author: Zoe Baines | On: 2017-02-17 13:38:38

Sorry to hear that Suzanne. I hope your mum feels better soon. Good luck with this competition.

I would love to win this bouquet for my mum, as she has had a lot of illness of late and been in and out of hospital and I know this would really cheer her up and let her know how much I love her!

Hi Ben - thanks for contacting us. I think it should read "<em>Donations will only be used by TheGivingMachine to support its charitable work <ul>and</ul> considered for payment on to each Cause once the total amount of commission received for a cause has exceeded £15.</em>". We weren't trying to say anything more complicated to be honest but we do use donations to TheGivingMachine to help develop and improve the service. I hope that I have answered your question but please let me know directly if it is still unclear. Richard (richard@thegivingmachine.co.uk)

Author: Richard Morris | On: 2016-12-12 14:14:40

The first sentence of para 4.6 seems to have gained or lost some words or been scrambled. It currently reads "Donations will only be used by TheGivingMachine to support its charitable work considered for payment on to each Cause once the total amount of commission received for a cause has exceeded £15." Should it be simply "Donations will only be considered for payment on to each Cause once the total amount of commission received for a cause has exceeded £15"? Or maybe you're trying to say something more complicated, that donations will only be passed on once commission has exceed £15 and will otherwise be used by the Giving Macjine?

Hi, Thanks for contacting us. Yes we did publish these blogs early so that people could see what was coming up in our 12 Days of Christmas promotion. So as you can see this blog is for the twelfth day. Please let us know if you have any more questions. Thanks Luisa

Author: Luisa Gatward | On: 2016-12-09 15:52:59

So your blog post says “today” three times and yet the small print at the bottom says only on the 12th. Have you published this blog post (and the others in this series) days early?

Love The Giving Machine and all its companies participating. Spreading the word to help our Cause. Winning the £100 means more sharing.

Hi Robert, Thank you for your message. We are hoping to get some editable versions created this week. If you let us know the name of your cause then we would be happy to add it for you. Many thanks, TheGivingMachine Team

Author: Laura Hollis | On: 2016-11-08 09:31:19

Are Word or editable pdf versions of the christmas poster available as these would look so much better with the cause details added in the same font rather than handwritten?

With these offers, now is a great time to try. Let us know what you think once you have shopped. Thanks Luisa.

Hi Fay - thanks for the comment and I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. We'd love to send more to NRAS - here's the link to their page of TheGivingMachine where people can join and help generate more free donations for them. Please let us know if we can help more. Such a shame NRAS,wasn't in the top league. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a terrible disease, My mother had it,and it was awful to watch her suffer with it, and later the Cancer the medication caused. she died two months after being diagnosed with Cancer.

I envy you. Here's something of interest Rachel, maybe? I have a place this year too (deferred from last year), but I am suffering with injury and unable to find the right level of training discipline. You should be reassured that, regardless of performance, you will totally love it and enjoy every minute of it! here is my last London Marathon story :) http://www.craigmckenzie.co.uk/fundraising/london-marathon-2014-race-report/

Author: Craig | On: 2016-02-26 15:21:19

Enjoy reading this and will enjoy reading about the actual event in which Rachel will be bursting with pride at what she's achieved and the feeling of euphoria when she's crossed that finishing line! Best of luck with the training!

West Gate School is a special needs school for autistic pupils, severe and profound and multiple learning difficulties. We are desperately trying to raise funds for a wheelchair 7 aside football pitch. Any gifts we receive will go towards our Christmas stalls and we have 2 pregnant special needs staff that love a chance to buy this.
