Nice and simply – Making pictures out of leaves!
October half term is the perfect time of year for this activity. The leaves at this time of year are so bright and colourful. They are great for making pictures so why not get your budding artist’s out for some fresh air collecting leaves and then spend a lovely afternoon doing arts and crafts.
Days Out – DreamWorks Tours, Shrek’s Adventure
How about a day out at London’s newest family attraction! Step into the kingdom of Far Far Away and enjoy a brand new Shrek adventure where amazing DreamWorks animation, captivating story-telling and a good dose of Donkey’s cheekiness awaits.
Family ties – Draw a Family Tree
This is great fun and a lovely way of learning how our family trees are made up. Get a big piece of paper and let them start with themselves at the bottom of the page and keep moving up adding parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Let them make it as colourful and creative as they want. When they have finished why not frame their masterpiece.
Big savings – Join Kids Pass
Join Kids Pass and save on days out. Members save on average £50 per month by saving with the following:
To sea or not to sea – A day at the seaside
A day at the seaside is always fun and the kids love it, even if it is a little chilly. However if the weather is really bad, why not bring the seaside to you with Motion Sand. It is clean to use as it sticks to itself and not to you! It’s easy to shape and mould and flows through your fingers like a slow-moving liquid, but leaves them completely dry.
Treat the birds – Build a birdhouse
Building a birdhouse is a fun activity for the kids but also an educational one. Let them build their own birdhouse and then decorate it. They can then decide where to place it and learn all about the birds they will be helping.
A tasty treat – Halloween cooking
Get them ready for Halloween with this tasty but scary dish which will work great as a tea time treat for Halloween. Simply get some hot dogs and buns and slice the hot dogs to look like fingers and add plenty of tasty deadly blood! I’m sure these will be a tasty treat with the tricks!
Fitness & Fun – Book a Football or Dance School
How about a football, multi-sport or dance session. These can often be booked for 1 day or the whole week. This is a great solution if you need to work as they often run for the same hours as a school day and the kids will love being entertained all day. Wowcher has some great deals for a 4 day booking.
