Whittard of Chelsea Competition

Those lovely people over at Whittard of Chelsea wanted to see what we thought of a few of their products and asked if we would write a review. Well we jumped at the chance, not only because as a team we genuinely really like their products but also because Whitard of Chelsea said they would also give one lucky giver the content of our review!

The Luxury Hot Chocolate selection has three luxury hot chocolate powders to choose from; milk, dark and white and comes beautifully packaged. I made the hot chocolate drinks using three teaspoons of powder and filled the cup with hot milk. Each drink smelt and tasted delicious, you could definitely tell it was a luxury drink. So now to the big question – which one did I prefer?? Well this was a very difficult decision as all three were superb but I think for me it would have to be the White Hot Chocolate.

The Tea Discoveries English Tea Caddy selection are beautifully presented in vintage-style caddies. I really enjoyed this English Breakfast tea, it has a strong taste and flavour and only needed a splash of milk.  It was a treat having loose tea from a teapot, instead of the usual teabag in a mug.  It was very refreshing and I could taste the quality ingredients, will definitely be using again. The Earl Grey has a fine, fresh aroma. It is refreshing drink, which I would drink at any time of the day. It had a citrus taste to it, which was very enjoyable.

I love coffee and normally enjoy a pot of fresh coffee on the weekend, so the Bank Holiday weekend was the perfect time to try out the Whittards Coffee Explorer’s set. The presentation is lovely, it is bright and colourful. It contains three different coffees, one medium roast, one medium-dark and one dark roast. We started with the San Agustin Colombia medium roast. Moved onto the Guatemala Elephant medium-dark and finished with the Monsoon Malabar dark roast. All of the coffees smelt and tasted lovely, but I think my favourite was the Monsoon Malabar as it had the strongest aroma and a really rich flavour. I think this would make a lovely gift for any coffee lover!

The Summer Berries All Butter Biscuits tin is absolutely beautiful and I to plan to utilise it as it simply has to remain on display in my kitchen.  On opening, the biscuits are kept fresh in their own little bag and after quickly popping the kettle on, I began to devour my first biscuit with a lovely cuppa.  They absolutely are everything it says on the tin – Sumptuous biscuits imbued with the fruitiest infusion and studded with plump summer berries.  After the first crunch, the biscuit just crumbles and melts in your mouth, with the sweet taste of the fruits which almost gives off a mild fruity aroma at the same time.  Very luxurious and a real treat! I can see I will definitely be collecting more in this range!
