The Northumberland & Newcastle Society was founded in 1924 by a group of concerned residents who wished to protect and enhance the environmental wealth and cultural heritage of the County and City. Nearly 100 years later we continue to monitor planning applications and make comment to the Councils with the aim of preserving what is best architecturally and historically in the north east.
