Our non-profit dog rescue kennel we help re-home Balkan street dogs in the UK and the European Union. Animal welfare standards out here are far below that of the UK, and unfortunately the issue of stray dogs is inevitable and unavoidable. Dogs are routinely rounded up by local ‘dog catchers' and destroyed or even shot in the streets at night. Our small team of volunteers are working hard to stop this by giving these dogs the love, attention and care they deserve all year round, for every dog who are either still on the street or remain in our basic kennel facilities. Our fundraising activities and sponsor schemes help keep these abandoned dogs in kennels. Animal lovers who adopt often want to help us continue to make a difference but we still really struggle to find enough funds to cover all the bills in the winter for our kennel dogs and still feed the ones we don't have room for who are still trying to survive on the streets.
