From Rescue to Regular Support: How AA Dog Rescue Is Raising Sustainable Funding Through Our GivingLottery
Raising Unrestricted Funds Through GivingLottery
Since joining GivingLottery in 2024, AA Dog Rescue has raised over £2,300 with the support of 34 players and is now on track to raise more than £1,500 this year.
For a rescue charity facing rising costs for food, transport, kennels and veterinary care, unrestricted funding makes a real difference. GivingLottery provides regular income that can be used wherever it is needed most, without adding extra admin or reporting requirements.
Small Supporters, Big Impact
AA Dog Rescue shows how a small but committed supporter base can create meaningful, sustainable funding. Every player helps provide ongoing support that allows the charity to focus on what matters most, helping more dogs find loving homes.
The charity previously ran its own “100 Club” lottery through Facebook, but found it difficult to manage payments and keep track of lapsed players. Since joining GivingLottery, they have raised more than £2,300 to support the ongoing care of rescued dogs.
Sharon Bays from AA Dog Rescue said:
“We used to run our own 100 Club lottery on Facebook but found it really difficult to manage and keep up with the payments and lapsed players.
The GivingLottery works really well for us and it is great to see it growing. We have raised over £2,300 and look forward to raising more. We promote the lottery on both our website and Facebook pages and groups, but it is the Facebook promotion which works best for us.
Everytime I receive an email from the GivingLottery, whether it's for our cause or myself as a player, it prompts me to post onto our Facebook group to promote our GivingLottery link. Also every Saturday when I receive an email about any winners we have, I post that into our Facebook group with a message such as "Great news, we had two winners in this weeks draw - check your tickets to see if you are a winner".
I find the marketing tools really useful and having them available means that we only need to spend a few minutes each week promoting the lottery.
The money we raise through the lottery platform, covers so much of the upkeep for our dogs. Each dog we rescue needs vaccinations and microchips at a cost of £15 each so the £2,300 we have raised has covered an awful lot of vaccinations and microchips.
To sum it up, the GivingLottery is a dream for us and makes our doggies dreams come true.”
